I think that your stand on being modest is very commendable. It is hard to find clothing that is modest and most often must be searched for on-line.

I too believe that modesty is the best way to dress. IMHO it is a reflection of who one is as a person.

Thanks for this post.

God bless you for posting this. I, too, believe I struggle with scrupulosity at times. My confessor has encouraged me to seek confession as often as I need to, but as long as I am making confession a regular part of my life, NEVER refuse to receive Our Lord in the Eucharist. We can spiritually starve if we separate ourselves from the Eucharist simply because we feel we aren't worthy. That has been a great comfort to me. I go to confession once or twice a month and go to Mass and receive Communion whether I feel worthy or not. That has been a tremendous relief to me.

Again, God bless you for your courage.

I once heard Cosmo, et al. referred to (by Jason Evert, I think) as "How To Get Used by a Man Manuals".

Whenever I find myself in line at the grocery store and have the chance to do so unobtrusively, I turn them around or place innocuous magazines in front of them.

(Btw, I found your blog via Mark Shea's Catholic and Enjoying It blog. Keep up the great work!)

One of the things I have read about scrupulosity when it comes to confession is total obedience to the confessor is a good cure.

Having a confessor that understands scrupulosity and is able to bind you in obedience to their judgment separating actual sin from scrupulosity is suppose to be a great help.

Yet another great post Angela! I just read that GQ Article and loved her sarcasm, but I cringed every time she would take our Lord's name in vain. I also read Rebecca's post and she brings up some great points as well.

Shanon and I's little girl is named Adriana, but not after Adriana Lima. Actually, there is a Vince Gill song titled "Pretty Little Adriana" and I've always liked that song. Of course I didn't tell Shanon that I got the name from a country song until after she said that she liked the name too ; )

Many Blessings,

Joshua
