Justice

“Men feel that the cruelty to the poor is a kind of cruelty to animals. They never feel that it is injustice to equals; nay, it is treachery to comrades. This dark, scientific pity, this brutal pity, has an elemental sincerity of its own, but it is entirely useless for all ends of social reform.” G.K. Chesterton, Charles Dickens

How am I as a person contributing to injustice?

This reminds me of mixed income housing. For some reason i have been hearing a lot about it recently. My thoughts are still developing on the subject. At this point, I believe it is good, not necessarily because of the distribution of wealth, but because it brings a new sense of understanding. For instance, how many times have you noticed when you or others have better understood and even liked someone you have nothing in common with. In other simpler words, I think the wealthier would understand the working class and their struggles a lot better, and vice versa. Rather than simply watching dreams on MTV, the working class can see them down the street. As much as I would like to live in a better safer place, I believe this pursuit for social understanding is much more important.

In theory at least…
